Real Men Teach Founder Curtis Valentine Demonstrates Common Goals With MILE

In the March 2024 issue of DIVERSITYinEd, MILE was proud to see UMD faculty advancing education and sharing the initiatives goals. In their latest cover story, Curtis Valentine, UMD Adjunct Professor and founder of Real Men Teach, discussed his organization's success and the networks in Prince George's County that inspired him along the way. Real Men Teach is an organization committed to transforming education by increasing the presence of male educators, mainly those of diverse backgrounds, in classrooms nationwide. When asked about the driving force when founding Real Men Teach, Valentine cited MENofPGCPS:

The driving force behind Real Men Teach was the tremendous success and impact of the Male Educator Network of Prince George’s County Public Schools (MENofPGCPS), a local initiative to recruit and retain male educators in the 20th largest school district in America.
