A symposium showcasing interdisciplinary and translational language and literacy research done by students and faculty at UMD and our partner institution, Morgan State University.

Hosted at Morgan State University’s Banneker Hall and co-sponsored by the National Center for the Elimination of Educational Disparities (NCEED) focuses on ways that parents and caregivers can capitalize on their home literacy practices to strengthen school based literacies.

On June 1st, 2024, MILE welcomed nearly 100 educators and leaders in Dual Language Bilingual Education (DLBE) to raise awareness, strengthen partnerships, and share understanding and resources for DLBE excellence and equity.

Through a partnership between MILE, the University of Maryland's School of Public Policy, Morgan State University's School of Education and Urban Studies, and the Karabelle Pizzigati Initiative, students joined for Advocacy Day.

In April 2024, MILE participated in the University of Maryland's largest annual outreach event.
