UMD Undergrad Sophia Stein Authors “Blueprint Implementation and Literacy” With MILE Contributions
University of Maryland Public Policy student Sophia Stein authored “Blueprint Implementation and Literacy” with contributions from MILE’s Policy & Outreach Pillar. The substantial white paper reviews The Blueprint for Maryland’s Future and its benefits on literacy in Maryland.
Stein also provides her expertise in “Literacy for all: working toward a comprehensive literacy policy in Maryland,” a paper she co-authored with Alvaro Ceron-Ruiz.
“Sophia Stein is a second year student pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is a graduate of Montgomery County Public Schools, where she became interested in educational equity in Maryland during her time as a tutor and teaching assistant. Sophia's work for MILE focuses on forming legislative priorities for a comprehensive state literacy policy and aligning the Blueprint for Maryland's Future with literacy for all. Her research interests include education, climate, and social policy.”
